Overview
Participants in this session will learn about the purpose of information security and the need for organisations to maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.
The session covered the following points: the need for information security, a successful information security program, threats posed to information security, common attacks, and common information security issues.
Participants will engage in discussions to understand and follow information security in their daily practice.

- Explain why a successful information security program is the shared responsibility of the entire organisation.
- List and describe the threats posed to information security and common attacks associated with those threats.

Speaker Profile
Dr Yousaf Bin Zikria is an IT and cyber security program coordinator at TIIS. He has over ten years of experience in research, academia, and industry, specialising in wireless networks, IoT, AI, and network security. He has been a senior lecturer and BITS coordinator at the Victorian Institute of Technology (VIT), Sydney (2023–2024), and an Assistant Professor at Yeungnam University, South Korea (2018–2022). He also held positions as a postdoctoral fellow and research assistant at Yeungnam University, as well as a lecturer at King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia. With over 100 published works and more than 5000 citations, he is listed among the world's top 2% of researchers (2021–2024).
